I’ve been thinking about doing this for some time, but have never really found the words for what I wanted or really needed to be said. This is something that means a great deal to me, I hope you will take the time to read and participate in this.

  You are all aware that I am a father of a six year old son, Wyatt. What most of you are not aware of is his mother, Theresa. Although we are not married anymore, we do still maintain a relationship together for our son. That sounds a bit misleading.

   Theresa has remarried. She has found a great husband and an equally as good step-father for Wyatt in a man named Mark. With

that said, recently, I learned that the benefit of our relationship was not just for Wyatt, but for us as well. Some lessons that we learn in life will certainly have more impact on us than others.

   In November of last year, Theresa discovered that she had breast cancer. She has since told her family and friends and kept us all updated with how things are going for her. In December, she had a mastectomy performed.

   She is now undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments to help kill the cancer. She’s a real fighter and has such a strong support net praying with and for her.  
  Theresa is probably the strongest woman I’ve ever known. She has taken all of this in stride and has spent more time comforting everyone else throughout all of this. I think that she ought to get some support back. For the woman she is to all of us and for the mother she is to Wyatt, I have chosen to let all of you who have taken the time to support me, offer some to her and Mark and Wyatt. 

I’ve chosen to also add a link to a friend of mine’s webpage promoting a walk for breast cancer in the Washington D.C. area. Lee is walking for her Aunt Susan, a breast cancer survivor. Lee and Theresa have never met, but with her recent illness, I find that I have become an advocate for breast cancer awareness and would like to help in anyway I can. Maybe soon we can be walking for Theresa. This is a “sponsor” page; however, I am not asking any of you to do any more than just visit it.
